“Personal Data” refers to personal information such as your name, e-mail address, phone number, identification number and other data, whether true or not, that identifies you as an individual.


We are committed to protecting your privacy and complying with the Personal Data Protection Act 2012 of Singapore (“PDPA”). Consequently, we will only collect, record, hold, store, disclose, transfer and use your Personal Data as outlined in this privacy policy (the “Policy”).


All  references  to  “using  the  Site”  includes  access  to  and/or  use  of  and (including both the web and mobile versions) (collectively, the “Site”) and our services and functions offered via this Site, including placing orders for purchase of our products.


By providing us with your Personal Information and/or by using the Site, you shall be deemed to have agreed to each and all of the terms, conditions, and notices in the Policy. If you do not agree, please cease your use of the Site and DO NOT provide any personal data to us.

We reserve the right to modify and change the Policy at any time to ensure that it is consistent with industry trends and/or any changes in legal or regulatory requirements. Any changes to this Policy shall be published on the Site. You are deemed to be aware of and bound by any changes to the Policy upon the publication of such changes on the Site.


1.  How We Collect Your Personal Data


You may access the Site and browse without providing us with your Personal Data. During such visits to the Site you remain anonymous. However, in order to utilize our services via the Site, such as placing orders for our products, we may ask you to provide your Personal Data in order that we can provide you with our services.


We may also collect your Personal Data when you interact with our staff including members of our customer service team via telephone calls, letters, face-to-face meetings and/or emails. Personal Data may also be collected when you enter a contest, promotion or survey, fill up a form, provide comments, suggestions or feedback,


You may also choose to sign up for a customer account through the registration page or voluntarily link your customer account to your social media account or use certain other social media features available through our Site. In such a case, you agree that we may access information about you which you have provided under your social media provider in accordance with the provider's policies and we will manage your Personal Data which we have collected from your social media account in accordance with this Policy.


The Personal Data we collect may include your name, email address, contact number, date of birth, and gender.


In addition, SkillsHub collects data that is sent automatically by your web browser, computer, mobile or tablet device.  This may include your IP address, the address of the web page you were visiting when you accessed our Site, date and time of your visit, information about the device you are using and other information.  Please check the settings of your browser and/or device if you want to know what data is automatically sent or if you wish to change your settings.  Please also refer to the section on “Use of Cookies” below. 


At all times, you may choose (i) not to submit your Personal Data to us; or (ii) to subsequently withdraw your consent to our use of your Personal Data. However, please note that we may not be able to provide or continue to provide (as the case may be), our services to you through the Site as a result. Your withdrawal of consent will not affect any legal consequences arising from such withdrawal.


2.  True, Accurate and Up to Date Information


You agree and acknowledge that it is your responsibility to ensure that all information submitted to us by you is true, accurate and not misleading and that such information is kept up to date. Failure on your part to do so may result in our inability to provide you with the products and services you have requested. We reserve the right to request for documentation to verify the information submitted to us by you.


3.  Third Party Personal Data


You agree and acknowledge that where you provide to us Personal Data of a third party, it is your responsibility to obtain the requisite prior consent from such third party for you to provide his/her Personal Data to us for the relevant purposes and you represent to us that you have duly done so.


4.  Storage of your Personal Data


We store your Personal Data in soft copy formats on our computer servers.

We will only keep your Personal Data for as long as we are either required to by law or as is relevant for the purposes for which it was collected.

Personal Data collected by us is subject to review annually to determine whether such information remains necessary for any legal or business purpose or if such information need no longer be retained by us.


5.  Use of Personal Data


Generally, we collect personal data in order to provide our products and services to you, and to personalize and improve our services and your user and customer experience with SkillsHub.  Personal data collected by SkillsHub may be used:

  1. to facilitate your use of the Site, including processing orders you place for our products through the Site and responding to your queries and requests;
  2. to update you on the training courses and for customer support purposes;
  3. to obtain your feedback after a sale of a product or service;
  4. to resolve complaints and handle requests and enquiries;
  5. to conduct business analysis including carrying out research on our users’ demographics and behavior;
  6. to inform you of promotions, offers, surveys, events, products and services, which may be of interest to you;
  7. to compare information, and verify with third parties in order to ensure that the information is accurate;
  8. to administer and manage your customer account (if any) and your relationship with us;
  9. to audit the downloading of data from the Site;
  10. to improve the layout and/or content of the pages of the Site and customize them for users of the Site;
  11. to update and back-up our records;
  12. to reduce credit risk, detect and protect us against error, fraud and other criminal activity;
  13. to verify and identify visitors on the Site;
  14. to comply with law, the requests of law enforcement and regulatory officials, or orders of court;
  15. to provide you with information we think you may find useful or which you have requested from us, including information about our products and services, provided you have indicated that you have not objected to such contact;

If we need to use your personal data for any other purposes, we will notify you and obtain your consent beforehand. You will be given the opportunity to withhold or withdraw your consent for the use of your personal data for these other purposes.


6.  Disclosure of Personal Data


We do not rent, sell or trade your Personal Data to any third party.

We gather your Personal Data for purposes of providing and improving our services to you via the Site. Your Personal Data will not be disclosed by SkillsHub to any third party, except:


6.1 to:

  1. any affiliate, subsidiary or partner of SkillsHub;
  2. our technology and marketing service providers; 
  3. lawyers, auditors, professional advisors and investors of SkillsHub; or
  4. any other agents, service providers or subcontractors acting for or on behalf of SkillHub,

to the extent required to carry out the purposes set out in Section 5, or to do anything at your request; or

6.2  where you expressly consent to such disclosure; or

6.3  where such disclosure is required or permitted by applicable law, statute, stock exchange regulation or by-law, regulatory or governmental order or court order. 


From time to time, we may collaborate with other third parties to organize joint marketing and promotional campaigns, offers or contests, and may require disclosure of your information to such third parties.  For example, where a promotion or Voucher Code is specially offered to customers of our third-party partner, we may share your information with that partner to the extent relevant to such promotional campaign. In some cases, you may not be able to enjoy the promotion, offer or participate in the contest, unless you consent to disclosure to our partner of your information. “Voucher Code” refers to any credits, vouchers, coupons or codes offered by SkillsHub for use in the purchase of services from SkillsHub.


Recipients of your personal data may be located outside Singapore.  You agree that we may transfer your personal data to our affiliates, subsidiaries and/or other third parties located outside of Singapore, as long as the personal data is handled in accordance with this Policy and all applicable laws. SkillsHub will ensure recipients of your personal data are legally bound to provide a standard of protection for your personal data comparable to the protection afforded under the Personal Data Protection Act 2012 (No. 26 of 2012). 


7.  How long do we retain your data?


Personal data provided by you will be retained as long as the purpose for which the data was collected continues. Thereafter, SkillsHub will destroy or delete the information, or remove the means by which the data can be associated with you, unless its retention is required to satisfy legal, regulatory, accounting or other business requirements or to protect SkillsHub’s interests.


8.  Is your data secure?


As your Account is protected by a password for your privacy and security, we ask that you take steps to protect against unauthorized access or use of your Account.  Please select and protect your password appropriately and limit access to your device and browser by signing off after you have finished accessing your Account. You are responsible for any loss, theft and compromise of your password and Account Information, and any activity on your Account that takes place through unauthorized password use.


SkillsHub understands the importance of keeping your personal data private and secure.  We therefore put in place security arrangements to protect your privacy and personal data, in a manner that we believe is reasonably appropriate to prevent unauthorized access, collection, use, disclosure, copying, modification, disposal or similar risks.  Please be informed that despite our best efforts, no security measures are impenetrable.  Unauthorized entry or use, hardware or software failure, and other factors, may compromise the security of your personal data.  SkillsHub does not warrant or guarantee in any way that your personal information or private communications will always remain private and/or safe. SkillsHub hereby disclaims any responsibility or liability directly or indirectly arising out of or in connection with, any loss, theft, or unauthorized access, collection, use, disclosure, copying, modification, disposal or similar actions with regard to any personal data held or maintained by us, except to the extent caused by our fault or negligence.

Our management reviews our security system regularly, and upgrades it from time to time to keep your Personal Data safe.


9.  Linked Sites 


SkillsHub may provide links to other sites ("Linked Sites") that may be of relevance and interest to you.  SkillsHub has no control over, and are not responsible for the privacy practices or the content of such Linked Sites, and you hereby waive any claim against us with respect to the Linked Sites.


10.  Use of Cookies  


In order to improve our products and services, we collect data by way of “cookies”.  Cookies help us measure the number of visits, average time spent, page views and other statistics relating to your access to the Site or App.  This information allows us to better administer the Site and App, and provide a more tailored and user-friendly service to our Site visitors and App users.  Cookies also enable you to use or access certain features or services of our Site or App, including the shopping cart and check-out features.  For example, cookies help us store preferences or retrieve products in your shopping cart between visits, from our servers.  Cookies are small data files that are sent to your browser from our Site or App and are stored on your computer’s or device’s hard drive.  Each time you visit our Site or App from the same computer or device, the cookie will be retrieved from your computer or device, enabling our Site or App to recognize your computer or device as having previously visited our Site or App and thereby increase the functionality of our Site or App on your computer or device.  Our cookies cannot be used to get data from your hard drive, to get your email address or any other data that can be traced to you personally.  Most web browsers and devices can be set to notify you when you receive a cookie or to prevent cookies from being sent; if you use these features, you may limit the functionality we can provide you when you visit our Site or App.


11.  Accessing Your Personal Data


If you would like to view the Personal Data we have on you or inquire about the ways in which your Personal Data has been or may have been used or disclosed by us within the past year, please contact our Data Protection Officer.


If you have a customer account, you may access details of your Personal Data collected by us by logging into your customer account via the Site. Here you can view the details of your past completed orders and your profile.


12.  Updating Your Personal Data


You may update your Personal Data anytime by accessing your customer account via the Site. If you do not have an account with us, you can update your Personal Data by writing to our Data Protection Officer.


We take steps to share your updates with third parties with whom we have shared your Personal Data as is necessary to continue providing you with our services or to perform on any contract we have with you.


13.  Correction of Personal Data


You may request us to correct an error or omission in relation to personal data about you that is in our possession or under our control by writing to our Data Protection Officer and including in your request your name and identification particulars and such other information that we require to identify you and the relevant Personal Data to be corrected.


14.  Withdrawal of Consent


Should you wish to withdraw your consent to our continued use and disclosure of your Personal Data for any of the purposes stated herein, you may do so by writing to our Data Protection Officer, stating the following information:


  1. your name and identification number; and
  2. details of your withdrawal request.


Please note that if you so withdraw your consent, depending on the nature of your consent withdrawal, we may not be in a position to continue to provide our services to you or to perform on any contract we have with you. Our legal rights and remedies are expressly reserved in such event.


15.  Complaints


If you have any complaint(s) arising from our collection, use and/or disclosure of your Personal Data, you may submit your complaint(s) in writing to our Data Protection Officer.


Upon receipt of your complaint, we shall respond to acknowledge your complaint within 3 working days. Our management will investigate your complaint thereafter and strive to resolve your complaint within 21 days. If your complaint is complex and cannot be satisfactorily resolved during this period, we will inform you accordingly and advise on the further steps we will take in our further handling of this matter.


16.  Right to amend Policy


SkillsHub reserves the right to amend the prevailing Security & Privacy Policy at any time and will place any such amendments on this Site or App.


17.  Governing Law


This Policy is governed by and shall be construed in accordance with Singapore law including without limitation the provisions of the Evidence Act (Chapter 97), Electronic Transactions Act (Cap. 88) and the PDPA, without giving effect to any principles of conflicts of law.  You agree to submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the Singapore courts.
